Sprunki is a fan-made music game based on the mixing system of Incredibox. Instead of completing traditional stages, players build tracks by assigning sound-producing characters to positions on the screen. Each character contributes a specific beat, melody, vocal part, rhythm, or effect, and several can perform at the same time. There is no conventional campaign with missions or dialogue; the main objective is experimenting with combinations and creating different musical arrangements.
Building a Track
Characters are selected from icons at the bottom of the screen and dragged onto available performers. Adding a character immediately introduces its sound into the current composition, while removing or replacing characters changes the mix. Because each performer has a separate loop, different combinations can produce noticeably different results without requiring the player to follow a fixed song or score target.
From Music to Horror
The most important change happens when Black is added to the group. This triggers the horror section, transforming the appearance of the characters and replacing the normal atmosphere with darker visuals and altered sounds. The same basic music-mixing system remains active, but the available loops and character designs change, allowing the player to create a second type of composition using the transformed cast.
The main gameplay involves:
· dragging characters onto available positions;
· combining several sound loops at once;
· removing characters to change the arrangement;
· testing different beats, melodies, vocals, and effects;
· adding Black to activate the horror transformation;
· creating new mixes with the altered character sounds.
There are around 20 core Sprunki characters associated with the original concept, including Oren, Raddy, Clukr, Fun Bot, Vineria, Gray, Brud, Garnold, OWAKCX, Sky, Durple, Simon, Tunner, Wenda, Pinki, Jevin, and Black. Each contributes its own visual design and musical part, so changing even one performer can alter the overall track.
Experimenting With Combinations
Sprunki does not use character leveling, combat, resources, or a traditional sequence of levels. Progress is based on discovering how the available sounds work together and exploring the contrast between the normal and horror versions. Since there is no single required composition, players can repeatedly rearrange the cast and create different tracks using the same set of characters.
