Dream Pet Link is a tile-matching puzzle game where the board is filled with pictures of animals such as lions, penguins, sheep, cats, dogs, fish, and other creatures. There is no story, protagonist, or campaign narrative. The objective is to remove every tile by finding identical pairs and connecting them according to a specific path rule. The game follows the Mahjong Connect style rather than traditional stacked Mahjong, so success depends on recognizing available routes between matching pictures.

Connecting Matching Animals

Two identical tiles can be removed only when a clear path can connect them with no more than two right-angle turns. The line cannot pass through other tiles, although it can travel through empty spaces and around the outside of the board. Matching tiles placed directly next to each other can also be removed immediately. As pairs disappear, new routes open between previously blocked tiles, so choosing one match can create several additional possibilities.

Levels, Timer, and Hints

Dream Pet Link contains nine levels, and every stage must be cleared before the timer runs out. Important gameplay elements include:

·         clearing every animal tile from the board;

·         matching only identical pictures;

·         using paths with no more than two turns;

·         receiving extra time after successful matches;

·         earning 10 points for each removed pair;

·         receiving a time bonus after completing a level;

·         using hints when no obvious match can be found;

·         automatically reshuffling tiles when no valid moves remain.

Progress Through Nine Boards

The levels become more demanding as the player advances, with denser layouts and fewer immediately visible connections. A shrinking bar at the top of the screen shows the remaining time, while every correct pair restores a small amount of it. The game begins with a limited supply of hints, and completing a level provides another hint for later stages.

Dream Pet Link is controlled entirely with the mouse or touch input. The player selects one animal tile and then selects its matching partner; if the connection follows the rules, both disappear. A useful strategy is to remove tiles near the outside edges first because they often have more open paths, then work inward as new spaces appear. Since the timer continues to decrease, players need to balance careful planning with quick recognition of available pairs. Completing all nine boards requires efficient matching, sensible use of hints, and attention to how each removed pair changes the possible routes across the board.
