Strike Force Heroes is a side-scrolling shooter with a story campaign about an elite military team fighting the organization Globex. The conflict begins when a research facility is attacked and a scientist escapes during the assault. Globex is connected to experiments capable of turning people into mind-controlled soldiers, forcing the Strike Force Heroes to intervene before the technology can be used on a larger scale. Story missions are presented through voiced scenes and battles across military bases, villages, aircraft, caves, and other locations.
Four Playable Classes
Players can choose between Medic, Assassin, Commando, and Tank. Each class has different health, weapons, abilities, and killstreak rewards. Medic uses assault rifles and magnums and can provide team support, Assassin specializes in sniper rifles and melee weapons, Commando uses machine guns and explosives, while Tank is designed for close-range combat and durability. Classes gain experience separately, so using the same one repeatedly unlocks additional equipment and abilities.
Missions, Weapons, and Modes
The campaign contains a sequence of missions with objectives based on different multiplayer-style rules. Outside the story, players can create custom matches or complete special challenges. The main gameplay includes:
· Team Deathmatch and Deathmatch battles;
· Capture the Flag objectives;
· Domination matches based on controlling zones;
· Gun Game with changing weapons;
· campaign missions with scripted story events;
· challenge battles with special rules;
· more than 65 unlockable weapons;
· skills and killstreak abilities for each class.
Combat and Progression
Movement uses directional controls while aiming and shooting are handled separately, allowing players to fire in different directions while running and jumping. Weapons include assault rifles, pistols, sniper rifles, machine guns, shotguns, melee weapons, and explosives. Maps contain platforms, ladders, multiple routes, and spawning points, so positioning can determine whether a weapon is effective at its intended range.
Strike Force Heroes does not use traditional platforming levels where simply reaching an exit completes the stage. Each campaign mission has a combat objective, such as reaching a required number of kills, capturing positions, or defeating specific enemies. Experience increases the selected class level and unlocks new weapons, skills, and killstreaks, allowing loadouts to be adjusted between battles. Players can therefore progress through the story while also developing individual classes and replaying missions, challenges, or custom matches with different equipment and tactics.
