Block Blast is a block-placement puzzle played on an 8×8 board. There is no story, character campaign, or combat system. The player receives different block shapes and places them on empty spaces to complete full horizontal or vertical lines. Finished lines disappear, creating room for new pieces and increasing the score. The main challenge is keeping enough open space on the board so that future shapes can still be placed.

Filling and Clearing the Board

Blocks do not fall automatically, so the player decides exactly where each shape goes. Some pieces are small and flexible, while larger shapes require more planning. Completing a row or column clears those cells immediately. Several lines can be removed with one placement, and consecutive successful clears build combos that award additional points. Because every placed block remains until it becomes part of a completed line, careless moves can quickly divide the board into unusable spaces.

Combos and Long-Term Planning

A typical round involves:

·         dragging available block shapes onto the 8×8 grid;

·         completing horizontal or vertical lines;

·         clearing several lines together for larger combos;

·         keeping large open areas available for future pieces;

·         planning placements instead of filling isolated spaces;

·         continuing until no available block can fit.

The game does not require fast reactions because there is no standard countdown forcing the next move. Players can examine the board and decide which placement creates the most useful space. High scores depend on surviving for a long time while maintaining combos and avoiding layouts where large shapes no longer have anywhere to go.

Game Modes and Progress

The main endless-style puzzle focuses on beating a personal high score, but Block Blast also includes daily puzzle challenges and additional objectives. Adventure Mode adds puzzle stages with changing layouts, themes, and increasing difficulty, giving players more structured challenges than the standard high-score mode.

Block Blast uses simple drag-and-drop controls throughout the game. There are no character upgrades or equipment systems to manage, so improvement comes from better board organization and more efficient line clears. A strong strategy is to avoid filling the center too early, keep several areas open for large pieces, and look for placements that can prepare two or more lines at once. The round ends when none of the currently available pieces can be placed, making space management the most important part of every run.
