Her Trees is a short point-and-click puzzle game set inside a strange monochrome room filled with hand-drawn objects. There is no conventional story told through dialogue, cutscenes, or named characters. Instead, the player gradually uncovers the logic of the room by observing shapes and manipulating objects. The game works like an unusual escape-room puzzle: rather than collecting keys and inventory items, the player searches for hidden letter codes that allow the next puzzle to appear.

Finding Hidden Codes

Each puzzle presents a new arrangement of objects such as leaves, branches, dice, pieces of paper, and abstract shapes. Some can be dragged, rotated, overlapped, or positioned beside other objects. The goal is to discover letters hidden through these relationships. A shape may reveal part of a letter only after another object is placed over it, while another puzzle may require noticing how separate outlines fit together.

Moving and Combining Objects

Once the hidden sequence is understood, the player enters it using the letter grid beside the puzzle. The possible answers use letters from A through I. The main actions include:

·         clicking and dragging movable objects;

·         overlapping shapes to create new patterns;

·         comparing outlines and repeated symbols;

·         repositioning pieces to reveal hidden letters;

·         entering discovered letters into the code grid;

·         experimenting with different object combinations;

·         using visual clues rather than an inventory system.

There are no enemies, combat mechanics, character statistics, or resources to manage.

Puzzle Progression

Her Trees does not use traditional numbered action levels, but it contains a sequence of individual puzzles inside the same surreal setting. Solving one code advances the room and introduces another arrangement with different visual logic. Each puzzle therefore needs to be treated separately instead of applying one repeated solution method. The entire game can be controlled with the mouse, and the original version is designed as a short experience that can generally be completed in about an hour.

Progress depends almost entirely on observation and experimentation. If an answer is unclear, moving objects into unusual positions or testing how their edges align can reveal information that was previously invisible. There is no penalty for trying incorrect arrangements, so players can freely move pieces until a useful pattern appears. Completing the full sequence eventually resolves the mystery of the room, making Her Trees a compact puzzle game focused on spatial relationships, hidden letters, and visual problem solving rather than traditional escape-game item collection.
